Wingman 3 in 1 Shower Gel

August 13, 2013

Wingman 3 in 1 Shower Gel I was sent this fine threesome of shower gels from the UK’s newest men’s grooming brand, Wingman. Great name btw.

I’ve showered with 3 and the verdict is;

Boom - this blue gel smells fruity without being flouncy!
Charge - this light green gel has a minty freshness to wake your tired bones.
Jetfuel - not much of a smell to it so it didn’t really stand out for me.

I would recommend the Boom and Charge gels, so keep an eye out for them at your local Tesco’s.

You can pick each 250ml bottle up from Tesco’s for £3.50.

Bronnley Herbarium Soap Collection

March 27, 2013

Bronnley Herbarium Soap CollectionBronnley know their stuff when it comes to soap. They’ve been a leading British soap and toiletries company since the 1880s.

This great pack of 6 Herbarium Soaps is a testament to this. They’re made with pure vegetable oil with botanical extracts thrown in for good measure.

Each soap has its own therapeutic property to offer ranging from Amica to relax and soothe, Rowan Berry to moisturise and invigorate and Thyme to stimulate the hands and body. I haven’t washed with a soap since I was a kid but these were surprisingly gentle and didn’t leave my skin too dry. They smelt great too.

I reckon every geezer should drop their shower gels for a month and jump on the soap bandwagon. Soaps aren’t just for hands my friends.

You can pick them up for £27.99 from Presents for Men.

Hanz de Fuko Quicksand & Scheme Cream

March 20, 2013

Hanz de Fuko Quicksand & Scheme CreamThanks to Jenn for sending these in all the way from the States.

Bloody love the name of this range. All Geezers should have a bit of Hanz de Fuko in their lives!

The Scheme Cream was my favourite of the two but mainly due to my current style (medium length swept over from one side with a messy parting going on). Easy to apply with just the amount of texture and hold I needed. It can also double as a leave-in conditioner which made sense as my hair did feel in great shape 7-8 hours after applying. The hold was strong enough to see me through the day too which was another positive.

The Quicksand is their most innovative product. It’s a clay which combines the properties of a dry shampoo and a sea-salt spray. It gives a real strong matte finish and smells great too. This didn’t work too well with my hair style but I can see this working great with shorter more funkier hair styles and I look forward to the next time my hair’s a bit shorter as I can see this would work nicely.

Hanz de Fuko men’s hair products contain only the highest quality, most effective certified organic ingredients and natural plant extracts. Which is good to know as I Fuko’d the hell out of my hair with them during the trial.

You can pick them up for £14.50 from Selfridges.

Dove Men+Care Shave Gel

March 13, 2013

Dove Men+Care Shave GelI really had to get my shave on with this lot.

Dove do a great job with their skin products and their new Shave Care Range is no different.

From dry skin to sensitive skin to tired skin you shouldn’t have any problems finding the right shaving gel for your skin type with Dove. They all worked really well for me leaving my skin feeling nourished and hydrated.

As good as the foam was the Revitalising Gel was my favourite. I’d definitely go out and buy this and Dove’s Men+Care Hydrate+Facial Moisturiser which finishes your shaving routine off nicely.

Dove continues to impress me. Nice one guys!

Check these out at Boots. They’re only £3.49!

Sassoon Rechargeable Clipper T2000

February 27, 2013

Sassoon Rechargeable Clipper T2000There’s a certain amount of stigma attached when using a rechargeable clipper.

Will it be powerful enough to do the job at hand?

Will the battery life be long enough or will I be charging it every couple of days?

How much will I have to pay for a decent one?

Well search no more my clipper loving friends. Sassoon have done a top job of putting your minds at rest with their Rechargeable Clipper T2000 from the Titan Series range.

I asked a baldy mate to give it a go over his chrome dome and he was very happy with the result. “It’s surprisingly light weight which made me think it wouldn’t have much guts to it but it gave me a close cut and was really easy to use. For the price of £19.99 i’d definitely buy one.”

Now for the details. The long lasting corrosion resistant stainless steel blades guarantee its long life (just remember to give it a little loving from the blade oil from time to time).
There are six different comb attachments to choose from, from 3mm to 18mm, plus a thinning comb for reducing hair thickness. It also comes with an eco-friendly mains adaptor so you can feel like you’re saving the planet whilst you charge.

If you fancy giving a rechargeable clipper a go you can’t go far wrong with Sassoon!

It not only looks super stylish but smells gorgeous too.

With notes of sweet poet’s jasmine, cyclamen, pink peony with its hint of rose and crisp lily of the valley, it has a beautiful long lasting scent.

The bottle is quite heavy but elegant with it and the class oozes out with each spray. Another strong contender for Valentine’s Day.

Joop! Homme Wild EDT Spray

January 30, 2013

Joop! Homme Wild EDT SprayNice fragrance this from Wolfgang Joop. Or Wolfy as he likes to be called (OK I made that bit up).

Joop has been around for a while now and this EDT Spray launched last September. “It’s a fragrance designed with a man with a wild attitude in mind!” is one of the tag lines.

Like a lot of fragrances the initial spray just seems ok. Nothing special. But once it settles down it livens up a bit and smells great. It’s built around a strong heart note of rum which is a cheeky addition from old Wolfy and the combination of this with the pink pepper and blond tobacco notes work well together.

Rum, pepper and tobacco shouldn’t work together but those masters of perfumery at Joop have somehow pulled it off.

JOOP! Homme Wild 75ml is available from The Fragrance Shop for £38.50.

Manatomicals Hair/Body Washes

January 23, 2013

Manatomicals Hair/Body WashesSmelling like a badger’s armpit? Say no to the dreaded B.O and leave yourself feeling fresh and ready for the day or night ahead with these seriously great smelling cleansers from Manatomicals.

All packaged in not-so-serious fun and funky packaging these paraben free sprucers offer top performance cleansing for your hair and body, so you just have to worry about looking and feeling great. Each works hard without getting in the way (just like any good team player)…handy!

I love the unique text and imagery on the back of these tubes. Very tongue in cheek and if I saw these in Boots I’d probably buy one just for the chuckle factor. Plus they’re only £2.79 so the price wouldn’t put me off either.

Great stuff from Manatomicals. Are you man enough to give them a go?

Manatomicals hair/body washes only £2.79 and available from Boots.
